Would you mind to describe your company and your products please?
“Secto Design is a Finnish company specialized in wooden designer lamps. Our lamps are handmade from Finnish birch in Finland. The Secto Design lamp collection includes 20 models designed by architect Seppo Koho. The entire Secto Design collection has a clear and timeless Scandinavian feel. The lamps are made of Finnish birch which gives an appealing warmth to the light. The design of the lamps is both classical and contemporary, and the forms of the shades are simple yet interesting at the same time. The Secto Design lamp collection is highly appreciated by architects and interior designers for its quality, functionality, timelessness and suitability for a variety of different styles.”
How many years has your company been present on the Finnish market?
“The first Secto-pendants were launched in 1999 and they are already classics. Altogether we now have twenty models in the Secto Design collection!”
Why did your company decide to be present in the Italian market?
“We know that the Italians appreciate high quality design. Our Scandinavian lamps make a great match with Italian design just like our collaboration with Flexform showed. Flexform had over a hundred Secto Design lamps at their stand in Euroluce Milan and the stand looked very stylish.
We also found a very good agent for our lamps in Italy back in 2009. Finding Mr Roberto Cossato who runs a company Selectionstyle helped us to make the decision to start focusing on the Italian market. With Mr Cossato's help we now have almost 40 retailers in Italy: http://www.sectodesign.fi/retailers?country=IT”
Why should Italians enjoy your products and Finnish style?
“Secto Design lamps reflect perfectly the atmosphere of the Finnish nature both with the forms and materials being used and this is something we believe the Italians appreciate too. Environmental friendliness and Finnish quality are another important elements in the production of the Secto Design lamp collection. All lamps are hand made in Finland of PEFC-certified birch grown in Finland.”
Why did your company decide to be present in Milan Design Week? Do you consider Milan Design Week an important event to give visibility to your company for the Italian and international market?
“Milan Design Week is one of the best known design fairs in the world. Everyone comes to Milan! We are very proud that this was our third time at the Euroluce.”
What's your goal for next Milan Design Week?
“The goal is to bring and present the authentic Secto Design lights to the Euroluce visitors who appreciate top quality, functionality, sustainability and timelessness.”
